Sedro-Woolley’s Johnny Lee Earns Elmer Clarkson Award!

CHARACTER DRIVEN | GROWTH MINDSET | WINNING CULTURE

On homecoming night in Sedro-Woolley, our communities were proud to recognize Sedro-Woolley High School Head Track & Field Coach Johnny Lee as a recipient of the Elmer Clarkson Award, presented by WIAA District 1 to individuals who demonstrate outstanding service to student activities, student-athletes, schools, and communities. This award includes a plaque and two lifetime passes to all District 1 events.

Johnny’s impact at SWHS goes far beyond the track. He leads all of our athletic programs through strength, conditioning, and speed development, serves as an assistant football coach, announces volleyball and basketball events, and consistently mentors and supports students throughout our school.

In all of these roles, Johnny exemplifies the spirit of the Elmer Clarkson Award through his dedication to students, athletics, and our school community. Elmer Clarkson believed in the importance of every student, and Johnny demonstrates that same commitment through the many ways he serves and supports our students and athletic programs.

The recognition is especially fitting, because Johnny is a graduate of Mount Vernon High School, and he was one of the key people who helped design the very stadium the community was celebrating at homecoming.

Coach Lee is the epitome of what it means to be a servant leader for the future of the Skagit Valley!
